MATCH EVENTS INCLUDE:

KING OF THE MAT/JAMBOREE

The King of the Mat (KOM) Jamboree league is designed for Novice wrestlers with limited experience. Its the perfect introduction for children to participate in a competitive setting without the aspects that younger children often find intimidating.

KOM events are typically held on Saturday mornings during the season. Each week there are certain towns that host teams from several other programs. It is not uncommon for 3-5 towns to have 100+ children at an event, which only lasts less than 2 hours.

Children are grouped by weight, age and experience to ensure that there are no 'unfortunate' instances. Parents and coaches act as referees, but there is no scoring similar to a scrimmage. There are often 4-8 individual matches taking place at the same time, which takes the focus away from any young child being nervous about participating in front of everyone by themselves.
